I have an old pc that only supports PIO mode for their hard drives.

So everytime I copy/move large files, my pc begans to crawl.

One way to "smoothen" this is by setting the io priority ckass to "idle".

I like to see PCManFM doing that internally.

Can someone remove my comments and fix the typo silently?

  • 3590055 can cover this feature.

  • Unfortunately the I/O priority is a system-specific feature which cannot be changed from inside PCManFM. Under Linux I would suggest you use ionice program to change I/O priority for pcmanfm, just add into your autostart scripts a line like that:

    ionice -c 3 -t -p `pidof pcmanfm`
