When a symlink is selected, the status bar could show something like
"symlink --> /usr/bin/target (55MB)"
"symlink --> (broken)"
(for a dangling symlink)
This approach has two problems:
a) size is not always available - it's meaningless for directories or special files for example;
b) if the symlink target is shown your way then no file type will be displayed (just no place is left to show it, status bar has limited space).
Yes, I'm aware this request is more than 3 years old and you were created own file manager clone since then. But anyway I'm going to make all good features into pcmanfm (which is very stable for a while) as long those features don't conflict with lightweight position.
