Hello,

first of all excuse my english :)

Can't rename files using smb:// to access a shared folder because the rename option doesn't appears in contextual menu for files or folders. You can delete, create, copy, etc... but not rename.

Curiously, if you mount the same shared folder (for instance, as cifs in fstab file) and access using the mount point the rename option appears and works. So it happens only when access using smb://.

I'm using same user&password for smb:// and cifs mount.

  • PCManFM version: 1.2.0
  • OS version: lubuntu 14.04 (amd64)
  • Steps to reproduce problem: just connect to a shared folder using smb:// access in navigation bar and try to rename a file/folder using contextual menu. The rename option doesn't appears in the menu...

Thanks and best regards.

This is a bug in GFVS - many backends does not report whether the file can be renamed or not. The behavior is changed in current GIT libfm sources. Check it when possible, please. Thank you very much.
