PCGen as an engine
Issue Type: New Feature
Affects Versions: Not Released
Reporter: Javier Ortiz Bultrón
I would love to visualize the campaigns in a map of some sort. I'm up to the challenge but my knowledge is on NetBeans, not Eclipse. Is there data already in the camping (within PCGen) I can use to display the map?
I doubt right now position is an attribute of currently in the database. Is there a chance to expose such an API? If the answer is yes I would take the challenge. I currently am working on extending an MMORPG engine with stuff like this. I don't see why reinventing the wheel if PCGen is such a great tool with lots of features already there. For me the only shortcoming is that it is in Eclipse, but I respect your decisions.
I guess it can be described as follows:
1) API to add, retrieve, update location (coordinate x,y ?) for entities (characters, creatures, dungeons, etc)
2) API to add, retrieve, update experience (and all the leveling info).
I guess this might be already available but only done with the GUI, I want to use PCGen as an engine.
At the end of the day I would like to keep PCGen and the game synced.
I'm a newbie on PCGen code, hopefully it makes sense!
