Category: Race Support Group: To be fixed For 5.10 >Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Stefano Bordoni (sbordoni) Assigned to: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Summary: [5.7.1] Monster levels not affecting XP... in 3.5 Game Mode Initial Comment: A character with a level adjusted race has the next level xp broken... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Date: 2006-06-23 19:09 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=208239 agreeing with Boomer. Doesn't add XP until first level of PC class is added. Makes since, since standard monsters don't have that XP (but those with class levels do, the whole difference between 'monster' and 'NPC'). This is now how it was working when I tested 5.7.1. *shrug* I think we can close this one? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Date: 2006-06-23 18:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=208239 testing ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2006-05-10 14:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Tir, can you confirm this is OK for you in 5.10? We can then close/delete as needed - K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Aaron Divinsky (boomer70) Date: 2006-03-23 02:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1249558 Just tested this in 5.9.6 and I don't see the problem. All the various combinations of monsters I tried had the correct value for XP for next level. It doesn't grant the min XP to "make" their current level though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Martijn Verburg (karianna) Date: 2005-12-05 11:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=252169 Mailing developers list for volunteer - K ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Date: 2005-03-08 18:27 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=208239 Changing title to reflect correct problem (LEVELADJUSTMENT tag works as designed) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andrew McDougall (tir-gwaith) Date: 2005-03-08 18:14 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=208239 Ok, this isn't working right in 3.5 mode. In 3.5 Mode, the cost to go up in level, is the total HD (including Monster levels) + LEVELADJUSTMENT. In 3.0 Mode, the cost to go up in level is LEVELADJUSTMENT + Class levels (LEVELADJUSTMENT there includes the HD, at least the formulas). What I'm seeing is that the Monster levels is not being used in calculation for XP to next level. We'd done everything according to 3.5 mode rules, and reverse engineered the 3.0 files a loong time ago. What I'm really seeing here is that the Monster levels are not effecting XP to next level. Relevant GameMode tags I see: CLASSTYPE:Monster CRFORMULA:0 ISMONSTER:YES XPPENALTY:NO XPPENALTY is for multiclass characters, so that is out. ISMONSTER turns on Monster functions, like going up in size at certain intervals. CRFORMULA is correct at 0, but I'm getting the sinking suspicion that CR and XP to next level are using that same tag, and if so, the 0 is setting off the no XP adjustment for races with racial HD. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Eddy Anthony (eddyanthony) Date: 2005-03-07 21:58 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=886893 broken in what way? I found it to be working as expected. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Stefano Bordoni (sbordoni) Date: 2004-06-24 19:48 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=143779 Yes, it is. There is the same problem into v5.7.2 too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Paul W.
