Background

i) the shell I use to start things is cygwin
ii) I don't like a long path, so I prefer to sym-link
to start-up scripts from /usr/local/bin
iii) in order to be able to easily switch back and
forth between versions, when installing, I make a
directory for the program suite and then a directory
with the version number - e.g. pwsafe/1.9.2b-bin
cd pwsafe; ln -s 1.9.2b-bin curr
lets you switch the version in use with just
reassigning the link

A sample script pwsafe.sh will be attached next, it
- makes the help function working by first "cd" to the
directory the exe is in
- puts the exe in to the background "& "
(this doesn't work if I just ln -s to pwsafe.exe)
- it probably works with other *nixes too once pwsafe
is available there too
