v 3.27 (4526) under Wine.
You might want to update to 3.29, which I think addresses this issue.
No, 3.29 does not help. I don't even understand what should I do in GUI to
create a gorup in the root. Moving group to root does not work almost always
(sometimes it works). (under Wine)
Has there been a resolution to this? I have the same problem and as a work
around, I have been duplicating groups and then renaming.
I just updated from 3.24 to 3.30 and ran into this problem for the first time. Thanks to Bill above for giving a temporary workaround.
Looks like I'm missing something. A bug report (https://sourceforge.net/p/passwordsafe/bugs/new/) along with a sample database and instructions on reproducing the issue would be a huge help.
A real newbie, so what have I done wrong.
Downloaded 3.30 , create new DB with password.
Create group - nothing.
Edit/Add group box opens with "new group" change - enter or click elsewhere - then everything disappears.
create a few more - all the same.
create entry - ok
Close and reopen
entry - ok
groups now appear with diamond, yellow border and white middle.
Add group to a group - different, this time solid yellow diamond appears, change "new group" to ... and press enter. The group diamond changes to one with white middle, but in this case does not disappear.
Enter entry into group - ok and diamond is now solid, so got that one !
Can not create group at outer level, can within group.
Can not duplicate empty group - ok
Can duplicate group with entries - use this for all other group creation. (Bill's solution)
While writing this discovered - select my entry at outer level - add group to this - and lets me add group at outer level. Maybe this is my answer other than with an empty DB nothing is seen until unloaded and then reopened
I think I've got it. Amazing what writing about the problem helps.
You MUST create an entry FIRST, before any group, then every thing is ok.
Did say I was a newbie. With my luck its the first instruction somewhere.
Still send this for other newbies and did get to end before I realised solution.
