What is the status of the Mac OS port of Password Safe? I notice that there are build files for Xcode in the git repository, but there are no files for Mac OS in the downloads area on SourceForge.

What is the extent of support for Mac OS? If I were to attempt to build it using Xcode, would I be likely to succeed? (And if so, why the lack of binaries?)

I build a Mac version for myself and wife. It works very well. I even store the safes in an iCloud folder so I have access to them from pwSafe. There are a few visual quirks that someday I'll get around to figuring out if it's user error or something that can be addressed. If you run into any build issues post here and I'll try help even though I'm not an experienced Mac developer.

We run Mac Lion here at home and I have Xcode 4.5.1.

IIRC, Rony doesn't have a machine to build and sign Mac binaries but I'm sure he'll pipe in with the full story.

Last time I played with the Mac OS port, it wasn't in very good shape. Certainly not something that I felt comfortable in offering users in a package format.

If you think that it's in good enough shape to release on the general public, I'm willing to give it another spin.

Rony, What are some of the things that needed work? I'll try to look into them.

Things like no being able to unlock a database that was locked due to the inactivity timer.
It's been a long time (over a year) since I've tried this, so if you want to give it a spin, please let me know what you find.

I compiled it using wxWidgets-3.0.0-rc2 and no Yubi support.

I did find two issues so far. As Ron mentions, if you try to unlock the database it takes the password but you never see the display update. Re-starting the app resolves the issue as expected.

I also had issues with Find Entry. A bar does show up along the bottom with some buttons but there is no search input box to enter a search term.

Other than that, it appears to work so far but I haven't tested every feature--just the basics.
