I have installeed Page Tool - no problems, everything
is up'n running. But I can't change my password. It is
set to "Password" and the second I´m changing it, the
login is broke - I can't get in anymore.
I'm absolutely not an expert - but could there som
kind of encryption-trouble?
Page Tool is looking very promising - so I'd
appreciate if anyone could help me to get by this
Yahoo! Mail - din for livet.

How did you set your password to 'Password'? On install Pagetool creates
the user 'admin' and sets the password for that user to be the same
password that you use for MySQL access.

Just to check, you are changing it via the Pagetool admin interface
aren't you, and not via phpMyAdmin? And also note that the password is

Could be. If your system doesn't use DES encryption then the current
release of Pagetool, Ver 1.1, will have problems, in fact you won't be
able to log into the new install at all! This has been fixed in the CVS
version. If you can look at your MySQL data using phpMyAdmin or similar,
and the password for the admin user starts with a $1$ or $2$ then your
system is not using DES encryption and Pagetool will have problems.
Having just had a look at the files it seems that there may be a bug in
as the new function, pt_2_char_salt(), isn't called when the changed
password is encrypted. Mmmm.

I'm a bit too busy at present to investigate further, but if you could
tell me the Pagetool version you have, how you got your initial password
to be 'Password' and what the encrypted password is stored as in the
MySQL database, then I'll try and sort out the problems when I have some
