It would be useful, if there would be a possibility to redefine user's own terminal colors, as it's for example solved in putty (sorry to mention it)).
The cause: the default blue color is to dark on the default black screen. It's difficult to work with vim the default settings, or even the ls command outputs a hard-read text.

Moreover there are lot of good user-friendly themes (Solarized for example: http://ethanschoonover.com/solarized) which could be also applied.
Yes, I know about the possibility to change colors with LC_COLORS, but then I have to do it on the every server...
