Thanks for the compliments. What distribution do you use?=20
(It's good to document successes as well as failures.)
DS2502? No clue. Probably persistent storage for some application or =

Subject: [Owfs-developers] My first 1-wire attempt and a question
Well, I'm thoroughly impressed. I got my DS9097U yesterday, pulled fuse =
and owfs from CVS, compiled, installed, ran, and got everything working=20
very quickly. (After I remembered my DS9097U was on ttyS1, not ttyS0) =20
I have working a DS18S20, a DS2405 hooked to an LED, and a DS2408 that=20
will soon control my sprinklers. Thank you guys for your excellent work =
on this software.
Now, my question... My DS9097U appears to have a DS2502 inside. What is =
the purpose of this? Is that so I can uniquely identify multiple=20
DS9097Us on the same system? Do I understand right that once I write to =
this device, that's it forever?

Well, that's a tough question to answer... That box started life as a
Knopsterisk (Knoppix-based Asterisk distro) hd-install. It has Debian
stable, testing, unstable, and experimental in its sources.list so I
guess it's mostly a Debian testing or unstable. I should probably
change that, though, as the purpose of this box is quickly changing from
"playing around" with Asterisk and home automation to "production"
Asterisk and home automation system.
