Hello Jason, I have used the current measurement input of a DS2438 in conjunction with a current shunt to measure battery charging current in the negative lead, for battery voltage measurement a potential divider is needed on the measurement input. The circuit can be powered from the 1-wire bus or from a separate 5 volt regulator, the current drain is very low, less than 1mA It is NOT possible to use a current transformer (donut) in a DC circuit, you may be able to get a hall effect monitor device but the circuit will then get complicated. However as suggested removing some fuses would be more instructive. hth David. |
