Reinstalling a second time did the job; disregard the message

Confirmed. During installation no error messages. After rebooting there is no /dev/tty.PL2303 something.

MacBook Pro, Intel Core 2 duo 2.4 GHz, OS X 10.5.3.

I am having the same issue. Is this being looked at?

    OSX 10.5.5 here.

  • I am using the driver on 10.4.11 on a powerbook and 10.5.6 on a new 2009 iMac concurrently. I use the USB to Serial driver to connect to a CDMA phone for internet access. The prolific driver works flawlessly on 10.4.11. On 10.5.6 I can connect and stay connected to the server but there in no response from the server. If I ping the server I get a buffer error, no pings go through. The Prolific kext has many dependencies in various system kext files. I am sure the issue lies in one or more of those kext files. I am no programmer, I do hope someone who is capable can solve this. This is the only connection I have to the outside world; working in the villages of Nepal.
