TAL Online Developer

The Alberta Library (TAL) is a non-profit province-wide library consortium and has achieved significant success in multitype library collaboration. The Alberta Library is responsible for the administration and coordination of the Knowledge Network Project for province-wide collaboration among post secondary libraries, focussing on licensing electronic resources, interlibrary loan and document delivery and the development of TAL Online.

TAL Online is a web portal, integrating province-wide access to library catalogues, bibliographic relational databases and a growing range of other web resources. A project of The Alberta Library, the interface was developed as an OCLC SiteSearch WebZ application. The Alberta Library is seeking a dynamic and creative application developer to lead on-going design and development. This position provides an opportunity to work on the cutting edge of Web technology in an open source environment.

Reporting to the Executive Director, The Alberta Library, the position offers the opportunity to work with other technology specialists on the development located at the University of Alberta Library's Information Technology Services. The position works closely with the TAL Online Development Standing Committee, public and post secondary steering committees, as well as with project teams whose work has implications for TAL Online.
