  • SQL can insert records in a database; SQL can update records in a database; SQL can delete records from a database; SQL can create new databases; SQL can create new tables in a database.

  • SQL in full Structured Query Language. Computer programming language used for retrieving records or parts of records in databases and performing various calculations before displaying the results. SQL is particularly suitable for searching relational databases. It has a formal, powerful syntax and is able to accommodate logical operators. Its sentence-like structure resembles natural language except that its syntax is limited and fixed.

  • Hi
    Can any one say how to create connection in sql database.

  • Hello
    I will show how to create a DB Connection through SQL in runtime using C#
    I am using windows authentication to create a sql connection using
    following connection string stored in web.config.
    <add key="GoldmineConnectString" value="server=(local);initial catalog=pubs;Integrated Security
    =SSPI" />But when I run the application, the application is trying to connect to the
    database as Admin/ASPNET user.

  • hi
    create a table
    CREATE TABLE Code3 (
    ID AUTOINCREMENT,
    Account TEXT(50),
    Code MEMO,
    Active Bit,
    Hits int,
    Rotation int
    )
    delete
    DELETE FROM table_name
    WHERE some_column=some_value

    update
    UPDATE suppliers
    SET name = 'HP'
    WHERE name = 'IBM';

    insert
    INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME

    VALUES (value1, value2, value3,…valueN);

  • SELECT *
    FROM Book
    WHERE price > 100.00
    ORDER BY title;

    The example below demonstrates a query of multiple tables, grouping, and aggregation, by returning a list of books and the number of authors associated with each book.

    SELECT Book.title,
    count(*) AS Authors
    FROM Book
    JOIN Book_author ON Book.isbn = Book_author.isbn
    GROUP BY Book.title;

    Example output might resemble the following:

    Title Authors
    --------------- -----
    SQL Examples and Guide 4
    The Joy of SQL 1
    An Introduction to SQL 2
    Pitfalls of SQL 1

    Under the precondition that isbn is the only common column name of the two tables and that a column named title only exists in the Books table, the above query could be rewritten in the following form:

    SELECT title,
    count(*) AS Authors
    FROM Book
    NATURAL JOIN Book_author
    GROUP BY title;

    However, many vendors either do not support this approach, or require certain column naming conventions in order for natural joins to work effectively.

    SQL includes operators and functions for calculating values on stored values. SQL allows the use of expressions in the select list to project data, as in the following example which returns a list of books that cost more than 100.00 with an additional sales_tax column containing a sales tax figure calculated at 6% of the price.

    SELECT isbn,
    title,
    price,
    price * 0.06 AS sales_tax
    FROM Book
    WHERE price > 100.00
    ORDER BY title;

  • SQL in full Structured Query Language and sql can insert records in the database sql is particularly suitable for searching relational databases.

  • The foundation of every Relational Database Management System is a database object called table. Every database consists of one or more tables, which store the database’s data/information. Each table has its own unique name and consists of columns and rows.

  • SQL can insert the records in a database. SQL can update records in a database.SQL can delete records from a database. SQL can create new databases. SQL can create new tables in a database.

  • It is a great deal to connect strings for MS SQL Server and MS Access including SQL Server ODBC connection, SQL Server OLE DB connection, SQLConnection .NET, MS Access ODBC connection, MS Access OLE DB connection, MS Access OLEDBConnection .NET, etc.One of the connection is shown below.
    SQL ODBC connection strings
    Standard Security:< br> "Driver={SQLServer};Server=Your_Server_Name;Database=Your_Database_Name;Uid=Your_Username;Pwd=Your_Password;"

    Trusted connection:< br> "Driver={SQLServer};Server=Your_Server_Name;Database=Your_Database_Name;Trusted_Connection=yes;"

  • SQL can insert records in a database; SQL can update records in a database; SQL can delete records from a database; SQL can create new databases; SQL can create new tables in a database.

  • The most common operation in SQL is the query, which is performed with the declarative SELECT statement. SELECT retrieves data from one or more tables, or expressions. Standard SELECT statements have no persistent effects on the database. Some non-standard implementations of SELECT can have persistent effects, such as the SELECT INTO syntax that exists in some databases.

  • SQL database connection strings. We have tried to list the most popular database connection strings and to give examples of their usage. As our background is with Microsoft technologies, we have great deal of connection string for MS SQL Server and MS Access

  • Tables are the basic structure where data is stored in the database.So for creating a table
    Syntax:
    CREATE TABLE "table_name"
    ("column 1" "data_type_for_column_1",
    "column 2" "data_type_for_column_2",
    … )

  • Here is the syntax for creating a customer table
    SQL> CREATE TABLE CUSTOMERS (
    ID INT NOT NULL,
    NAME VARCHAR (20) NOT NULL,
    AGE INT NOT NULL,
    ADDRESS CHAR (35),
    SALARY DECIMAL (15, 2),
    PRIMARY KEY (ID)
    );

  • db.grussell.org is a best Online Interactive SQL Tutorial website. I always prefer this site for SQL Tutorials.

  • For creating table is SQL we need query for new table. Here is the syntax:
    CREATE TABLE table1 (Id int, name varchar (20), address char (20));

  • The most common operation in SQL is the query, which is performed with the declarative SELECT statement. SELECT retrieves data from one or more tables, or expressions.
