I noticed that the 0.9.1 release was done in July 2005. Since then there have been additions for the IBM Power5+ and Inte Core processors. Would it be worth while to make a 0.9.2 release so people with these architectures don't have to build oprofile from a cvs checkout? -Will |

Yes, but I don't have time to do anything except the release mechanics. I need some kind of volunteer to look into release testing, resolve any important bugs, etc. regards john |

Is there some set test proceedures used for the release testing in the past to catch mistakes? -Will |

We need updates to the website (including the release notes etc.), generation of a release candidate and call for testing, testing on various architectures & distros. In particular testing with multiple perf counters, different ones, timer mode, etc. > Is there some set test proceedures used for the release testing in the > past to catch mistakes? Only the mechanics, releasechecklist in oprofile-www module regards john |
