Dear Maynard Johnson, I tested oprofile with oprofile-0.9.8 tool and observed below issue. {{{ root@xilinx-zynq-le:~# opreport -l Using /var/lib/oprofile/samples/ for samples directory. CPU: ARM Cortex-A9, speed 1999 MHz (estimated) Counted CPU_CYCLES events (CPU cycle) with a unit mask of 0x00 (No unit mask) count 100000 opreport error: Your version of binutils seems to have a bug. Read http://oprofile.sf.net/faq/#binutilsbug }}} I have gone through the link provided in above output and find patch that need to be applied to binutils patch. i attached the patch in this mail. http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=717720&group_id=16191&atid=116191 I am currently, using binutils-2.19 version . Is it ok to simply upgrade the binutils version to latest available version and test oprofile ? (or) i can go ahead and apply the patch to existing binutils and test oprofile.? Thanks for your information.
