Sorry, I had the answer ready, but forgot to copy it into my note. We do this because we get the names from the "Name: xxx" line in the /proc/(pid)/status files. For some of the lower pids, like 10 or 11, the name includes a slash, such as events/0 or events/1, respectively. To avoid confusion with the directory separator, we change this to #.
