Folks,
I was under the impression that starting with oprofile0.9.7 nehalem was supported.
opcontrol -l does give me the list of events consistent with nehalem architecture. However, when trying to use some of them,
I'm getting an error that the event is not supported. For example, MEM_UNCORE_RETIRED is listed in the -l output, but cannot be set.
The set of events that I can actually set is consistent with the list of events for "Architerctural perfmon". And in fact, after upgrading to
0.9.8, that's exactly what I see in the profiler results as the detected CPU.
The /proc/cpuinfo says that I have GenuineIntel Xeon X5660, which, as I understand, is of nehalem architecture.

Thanks,
     Andy.
