I apologize for this newbie question but I am unable to find an answer.
I have written some code in the Linux 2.6 kernel's route.c code as part of my research. I want to do profiling of this code ( and subsequently of other parts of the network stack). Unfortunately, I cannot seem to get any output in opreport even when I pump in a couple of million packets through the Linux box in 10 seconds. Each of these packets is being processed by route.c (I crossed checked using a counter and printk). However, in opreport I only see some numbers regarding vmlinux.
So, can some please tell me how to go about instrumenting a portion of vmlinux?
