Thanks for you reply.
I thought this as a different issue,so I posted in a different thread. From next time onwards I will post in the same thread.
Sorry for that.

This seems to be the same issue you've already posted about (April 20, subject "Cross Compilation issue for Oprofile-0.96"). Please don't double-post. It's annoying. Use just one thread per issue.I have already told you in a previous response that we "don't have an official release yet with armv7-ca9 support, so you'd have to do a 'git clone' from our SF repo." Annoying strike #2!
I am trying to cross compile the oprofile for ARMv7 for cortex A9.
I am facing issue while cross compiling the oprofile for target.
I am using oprofile-0.96 and compiling on ubuntu-10.10 ,target is armv7 cortex A9.
But once you upgrade your oprofile source from current git repo, I presume you will *still* get this error. From what I found by google'ing the "unresolvable R_ARM_MOVW_ABS_NC relocation" error, it appears your libbfd was built without -fPIC. You can report this to your distro and/or try building/installing your own binutils. If you do so, then you must re-configure oprofile using the '--with-binutils' option.
I am using linux kernel of version 2.6.34.Does this kernel support for the
target Armv7 Cortex A9.
Does oprofile -0.96 will support for Arm v7 cortex A9.
When I am trying to build the oprofile for Arm v7 cortex A9 I am getting the
issue like ***unresolvable R_ARM_MOVW_ABS_NC relocation against symbol `__ctype_b"*
What are the the libararies required to compile the oprofile-0.96?
Here I pasted the output of the error which I am getting.
-lbfd -liberty -ldl -lintl
-Wl,libopagent.so.1 -o .libs/libopagent.so.1.0.0
/home/durga/trident_sdk/SRC/open_source_archive/linux/toolchains/gnu_cortex-a9_tools/usr/bin/../lib/gcc/arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi/4.4.0/../../../../arm-linux-uclibcgnueabi/bin/ld:gmake: *** [libopagent.la <http://libopagent.la>] Error 1
unresolvable R_ARM_MOVW_ABS_NC relocation against symbol `__ctype_b'*
final link failed: Nonrepresentable section on output
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
gmake: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
Anyone knows the root cause for the issue?
