We can't seem to get oprofile to work on our load system, which is an Intel Mullins server running Red Hat Linux 3.2.3-54 (Linux LD-SRVR3 2.4.21-47.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Jul 5 20:38:41 EDT 2006 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux -- gcc version 3.2.3 20030502 ).

We have it working on a development machine (RH5 system -- Linux daytona 2.6.18-8.el5 #1 SMP Fri Jan 26 14:15:21 EST 2007 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux).

It is installed:

[root@LD-SRVR3 cms]# nice rpm -qa | grep oprofile

Seems happy to start up:

[root@LD-SRVR3 root]# opcontrol --setup --no-vmlinux --separate=library
[root@LD-SRVR3 root]# opcontrol --start
Using log file /var/lib/oprofile/oprofiled.log Daemon started.
Profiler running.

Stays up:

root      5476  0.0  0.0  3068 1116 ?        S    14:06   0:00 /usr/bin/oprofiled --separate-lib-samples=1 --separate-kernel-samples=0 --pid-filter=0 --pgrp-filter=0 --no-vmlinux

Ask it to dump data:

[root@LD-SRVR3 root]# opcontrol --dump
[root@LD-SRVR3 root]#

Ask for a report

[root@LD-SRVR3 root]# op_time -knr
no samples files found (try running opcontrol --dump ?)
[root@LD-SRVR3 root]# oprofpp -k -r -D --output-format=vsipnh -l /usr/cti/cms/bin/VXMLService.exe
oprofpp: Cannot locate any samples file.

Any ideas?  We've googled it and tracked down a few things, but nothing seems to help.
