The output for the following ocount command:

ocount --events CPU_CLK_UNHALTED:0:1:0 --events CPU_CLK_UNHALTED:0:1:1 ls

is

Events were actively counted for 911637 nanoseconds.
Event counts (actual) for /bin/ls:
Event Count % time counted
CPU_CLK_UNHALTED 1,427,848 100.00
CPU_CLK_UNHALTED 2,002,042 100.00

Unfortunately, the user, kernel settings are not printed so the user has to guess
which count is for which event specification. If the user specified a unit mask, kernel or user mode only then it needs to be printed along with the event name.

Discussion

  • Very nice. Thanks a lot for the patch. I committed it upstream, with just a couple small whitespace fixups.
