    Please describe the workload. Is this consistent? Can you
    try oprofile CVS?

    cvs must be tried, we fixed a daemon problem recently, this
    bug is more
    likely to occur on system with prelinking done periodically
    by a cron job
    (rh 7.3 seems a bit old to get this feature ?) or if the
    user delete and recreate
    some binaries whilst oprofile is running.
