I lack computer savy. I tried to download open workbench and get an error message, that says it cannot start of find J arva JRE (!), anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks
That means that you have to install jre and it has to be 32 bit for OWB.
OWB 1.1.4 ir fairly old and I don't recall which version of jre is required, maybe 1.5 You can download it from Oracle java archives. You have to be local admin when you install OWB and preferably also use OWB with the Windows login you used to install it (admin) You can use it with other ID's, but the you have to manually set the Tools-Options as they are Windows user specific and stored in the registry. Therefore the user needs permissions to write into the registry.
There are newer versions available from
See the release notes for the jre version needed.
