I have faced a critical issue with ssh login , that while loging into remote machine through ssh from my AIX machine is taking huge time around 20-30 sec. Our system has automated ssh login which exits if ssh login is not happened within 5sec. I am very much bothered about this !!!!
Is this as knows issue?? is there any fix present for this??/
can you help me regarding this issue
thanks in advance
do you use X11 forwarding?
If you don't need it, try to connect using "ssh -x" (lowercase "x" which disables X11 forwarding)
If you need it, try to force trusted X11 forwarding with "-Y" instead of "-X"
There is e timeout problem with the xauth command generated on the client side when untrusted X11 forwarding is active
Is your remote machine exceptionally slow? I experienced similar symptom connecting to an old 43p-150 running aix 5.3 and openssh 4.3p. When I ran truss -fp on the sshd I realized that the server code close()s every single unused filedescriptor which is roughly 64k system calls. If you are curious enough you can read the source...
We were experiencing the same issue with slow response of the ssh client.
The solution was to replace line in /etc/netsvc.conf
