I suppose that reimplementing the $usepop/extern components of Poplog to sit atop the Apache Portable Runtime (http://apr.apache.org) would be a very bad idea capable of attracting little support... Pros. 1. Move to a unified source code for all platforms. 2. Open-source, tested platform. Cons. 1. Cost/time of development. 2. Dependency on third-party, albeit open-source, component. I wonder what it would cost to hire someone to do this? What do you reckon, one man month, (assuming we could find a qualified body)? Regards, -- Jeff |
