Also, I do know of a way to do this, but I'm hoping for something
more elegant. The method I'm considering is attaching an action to
linkDown and linkUp events that calls an external script which would
fetch the desired data, format it, and feed it back to OpenNMS via
send-event.pl. Is anyone else doing something similar?
