You should at least check if openMSX is installed, manually or with the installer, in \Program Files or not. If openMSX is not installed in \Program Files, it should generate the user subdirectory with all its subdivisions and allow to save all openMSX user data in this subdirectory. While we should leave the option available to the user to set things up as he sees fit, we really shouldn't default to generating any files in the openMSX program directory. > -----Original Message----- > From: Benoît Delvaux [mailto:mar...@sk...] > Sent: Wednesday, February 18, 2009 11:06 > To: ma...@co...; ope...@li... > Subject: Re: [openMSX-devel] A proposal for the 'openMSX application datalocation' > bug > > For many Windows users, the best way is not these options (My Documents or > AppData folder). > > It's really more handful to have all these subdirectories in the openMSX > directory, as it is the case with blueMSX. > > At least you should leave the choice to the user in Catapult, not only for > the screenshots, video recordings and audio recordings, but also the save > states, persistent and share.
