Hi Vincent, Hi all, by adapting the diff between 2.4.22 and 2.4.25, I "wrote" these patches against openMosix 2.4.22-3 (works for 2.4.22-2 too). These patches should fix security problems induced by do_brk() and do_munmap() bugs, in mmap.c and mremap.c respectively (and fix a retval for PROT_EXEC in mmap.c). Kernel compiles fine and boots better ;) I tested all the codes that exploit this vulnerabilities and they fail (this means that the patches work!). Could anyone confirm that these patches: 1) are enough to fix these bugs; 2) do not introduce other bugs. Should I modify other things besides mmap.c and mremap.c? BTW, I've noted that 2.4.22-3 patch leaves the extraversion as "openmosix-2" instead of "openmosix-3". Thanks in advance. Ciao Moreno PS: patches for 2.4.20-3 in the next e-mail |
