Dear Ian, First of all, thankx for your detailed answer. And second: Well, you are way ahead of me (remember the word newbie in the subject ?) in what concerns the cluster topology. Of course, the problem you addressed is MUCH more interesting than mine, and I would like this to be, indeed, my next step. In fact, this topology is DUS (Doomed to Unsurmountable Success) if you think in terms of a GRID... But my problem is far simpler. What I have is 2 NICs in PC2, alias eth0 & eth1, so I do not have (yet) the problem of cross-over LAN. So PC1 has address : 194.117.6.xx (eth0) PC2 has addresses : 194.117.6.yy (eth1) 192.168.0.1 (eth0) PC3 has address : 192.168.0.2 (eth0) PC4 has address : 192.168.0.3 (eth0) PC5 has address : 192.168.0.4 (eth0) PC6 has address : 192.168.0.5 (eth0) And so my problem is how to (from your email this is what it apparently amounts to) configure PC2 in order to make "PC1 aware" of the existence of PC3 PC4 PC5 & PC6 as valid nodes of my Omosix cluster, so that it can migrate with the standard "weighted probability" to any of the nodes. Of course, if question 1 is solved, question 2 is redundant (so far). Greetings, JmP |
