OpenMex version 0.2 (Alpha 2) released

OpenMex is a tool that can extract (and in the future import) files from a large variety of game archives. Release 0.2 Alpha includes support for 142 games, lots of bugfixes, and more GUI features.

Once again, XeNTaX baffles friend and foe with the second release of the ever growing OpenMex extractor. Well, not really, but this release is pretty cool anyway. We're still calling this an Alpha release because a very important feature (being able to modify archives) is not supported yet.... read more

OpenMex version 0.1 (Alpha) released

OpenMex is a tool that can extract (and in the future import) files from a large variety of game archives. Release 0.1 includes support for 138 games, and a fresh new GUI.

This release is Windows only (tested on XP). In the future we may be able to support other platforms (after all, Python and wxPython should be platform-independent), although we could use some help with that. If youre interested in helping out, please contact us through SourceForge.... read more

The beginning of OpenMEX...

This project aims to create a Python implementation of MultiEx. It is also an effort to get more people involved in releasing scripts for handling new types of archives.

This is our first SourceForge project, so we'll be a while reading up on documentation on how to do certain things.

The good news is that I already have some pre-pre-pre-alpha code for a gui that looks fairly sexy but has almost no functionality except for testing purposes. When I figure out how to do this CVS/SSH thingy I'll put it online.... read more
