Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=1812102 By: lasmith I have a few other issues that relate to this: 1. Why do you have to mention a startup script in the config file. I will only be starting / stopping the server programmatically and have no need for a startup script. Will this be used for anything? Is it required (I know the xml element is required by the xsd)?? Currently my tag just has: <AdminConfiguration script="" config=""/>. Is this ok?? 2. Currently I start the server with the following code ... embeddedJmsServer = new EmbeddedJmsServer( xmlConfigFile.getAbsolutePath() ); serverThread = new Thread(embeddedJmsServer); serverThread.start(); RmiJmsServer jmsServer = new RmiJmsServer(); MyRunnable runnable = new MyRunnable(jmsServer); rmiServerThread = new Thread(runnable); rmiServerThread.start(); The MyRunnable class just calls init() on the Rmi server. Initially I just started the embedded server. However there was no way to get the JmsAdminServerIfc through the lookup: String url = "rmi://localhost:1099/JmsAdminServer"; JmsAdminServerIfc admin = AdminConnectionFactory.create(url); I could see it wasn't starting and got a connection refused exception. I need this to be able to shutdown the server. I couldn't find any other method to shut down the server? I tried to just simply stop the thread but nothing happened. Is there a better way to do this?? I don't actually need the RMI server I just need the admin interface to able shut the server down. 3. You mention to use the embedded connector but I couldn't find anywhere in the documentation an example that uses it. presumably the URL for the initial context is just - embedded://localhost:1099/JndiServer. And what about the Initial context factory which class would I use?? 4. If I am using non-persistent messages do I need a database configuration? I will most likely use hypersonic (as per your suggestion) but wondered if I actually need it? Will openjms function without a database configuration? Thanks in advance Laurence ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum.
