Well, if you could send along some XML or SGML and DSSSL simple cases which show the problem, I'm happy to poke around in jadetex again, looking in the DisplayNIC code. I got rather distracted the last time I got to this point. I have read through the jadetex code and it looks ok -- it's doing what it should be doing, e.g., looking for the largest of two spaces, and handling the 'force' cases, if I recall correctly from when I read the code. Similarly, I recall that the OpenJade FO output and the TeX output also looked proper to me. My totally unfounded guess is that perhaps the space before/after compression isn't working right in the *parent/child* relationship, but works ok with siblings. Maybe the display-group is just the most visible case, since display-groups always have blocks inside as children. A very tough nut to crack, mostly just because TeX macros are rather hard to debug. I wonder if there's some TeX debugging tools out there. Even if we could compare the JadeTex macros with the expanded raw TeX macros, that would probably help a lot. -- ...Adam Di Carlo...<ad...@on...>.......<URL:http://www.onshored.com/> |
