You didn't need to download/compile/install any of those. Most of them
were probably already installed on your system or are available from
Fedora's repo.

But before going further, may I suggest you install FWTools instead?
It includes OpenEV. This way, you will be able to test the software
and see if it fits your needs. Then you can decide if you still want
to go through all this trouble ;)
