The HDL code generation backend that has been used to create FPGA implementations from dataflow programs written in CAL has been open-sourced. It is available at http://www.sf.net/projects/openforge. It will be integrated into the OpenDF framework in the near future.
The EU-funded ACTORS project organizes a dataflow workshop within the Artist2 Network of Excellence. Most of the material will deal with CAL, and much of the discussion is related to Open Dataflow tools.

Thanks to a generous contribution back to the OpenDF repository of their Cal2C compiler, the folks at IETR/INSA of Rennes -- www.insa-rennes.fr -- have enabled the direct compilation of OpenDF dataflow applications to C source code for simulation. Written in Ocaml, Cal2C generates C source code that layers on top of SystemC. Application execution of the compiled C is an order of magnitude faster than the existing (interpreted) simulation core. ... read more
New versions of the Eclipse plug-ins for the CAL/NL editor and simulation run config have been posted to the Opendf eclipse update site at: http://opendf.sourceforge.net/eclipse
The editor plugin (version 1.2.4) contains syntax hihglighting, source outlining, and improved error location reporting.
The simulation run config plugin (version 1.1.0) now supports full configuration of the simulator, including specification of model search path, top model parameter values, processing options, verbosity, etc.
