Hello everybody, Currently, I'm a security master student of a joint program in the Netherlands and I'm developing my final research project. As some of you might now, cell broadcast service is gaining importance to provide warning and emergency services and the Netherlands is one of the countries pushing to deploy this service. In my research project I will analyze the security of CBS, more specifically, I will fuzz mobile devices using the CBS service, to see how the devices react to malformed or unexpected messages. To accomplish the above I will use OpentBTS along with an Ettus Research USRP hosted at Radboud University Nijmegen under a controlled environment, so no worries regarding illegal tranmission of messages or frequency interference. As far as I know, only the OpenBTS commercial version supports SMSCB, is this still true? On a post<http://www.mentby.com/Group/openbts-discuss/openbts-commercial-release-and-rangenetwork-appliance.html>from July 4, 2012, Alexander Chemeris mentions Fairwaves developes custom solutions for the OpenBTS public version and that the company could implement SMSCB support, was this the case? and if it is, where can I find this version of OpenBTS? Finally, in case my only option is to use the commercial OpenBTS. Do I have to purchase a whole piece of equipment or can I only get a license? If the latter is true, what is the price of such a license? I want to thank you all in advanced for your help!
