Hi David,

Following my answers:
What OpenBTS revision?  1.4.
GNU or Kestrel?  GNU
What is your OS?  Kernel?  GNU/Linux Ubuntu 8.10 (2.6.27-9-generic)
What hardware? Dell D830, Core 2 Duo 2.6GHz, 4GB RAM
Is your system 32 or 64 bits? 32

What gcc version? gcc version 4.3.2 (Ubuntu 4.3.2-1ubuntu11)
What libosip version? 2
What GNU Radio installation? Lastest Stable Release 3.1.3

Did it build?  If not, where did it fail?  Yes, after exporting LIBS=-lpthread
Does it run?  If so, for how long?  Under what conditions does is
crash?
That's a long history. I can run after changing CommonLibs/Thread.h as bellow:
const static size_t mStackSize=65536*4;
Before that the transceiver crashed. However doing this I can register phones (iPhone - 2G and Motorola A1200) normally. I can also do MO calls do the softphone, in my case the Twinkle. The Zoiper crashed all the time in my machine.
I can't do MT call, the OpenBTS900 crashed when the phone starts to ring.
Can phones register?  Yes.
Can you connect calls?  How many active lines?  Yes, I could try 2 phone until now.
What is the CPU load with 2 active lines, as a fraction of 1 core?
On top: 22% for transceiver, 98% for OpenBTS
On gnome-system-monitor: 12% for transceiver, 48% for OpenBTS

Tks,
Alex

All -

We are trying to put together a picture of how OpenBTS works (or
fails) under different systems.  This will be useful in tech support
and for selecting OS's for embedded systems.  Really, this
information will be very helpful.  So...

If you've acquired OpenBTS and tried to use it, please answer the
following:

What OpenBTS revision?
GNU or Kestrel?
What is your OS?  Kernel?
What hardware?
Is your system 32 or 64 bits?

What gcc version?
What libosip version?
What GNU Radio installation?

Did it build?  If not, where did it fail?
Does it run?  If so, for how long?  Under what conditions does is crash?
Can phones register?
Can you connect calls?
What is the CPU load with 2 active lines, as a fraction of 1 core?

Just to kick things off, here are my answers:

What OpenBTS revision?  All, up through 1.5.
GNU or Kestrel?  Kestrel.
What is your OS?  Kernel?  Max OS 10.4.11, Darwin 8.11.1
What hardware? Apple MacBookPro2,2, 2.33 GHz Core Duo 2, 2 GB RAM
Is your system 32 or 64 bits? 64

What gcc version? gcc version 4.0.1 (Apple Computer, Inc. build 5367)
What libosip version? 2.4
What GNU Radio installation?  Ugh ... SVN trunk r7252 (?).  It was
painful to install.

Did it build?  If not, where did it fail?  Built fine.
Does it run?  If so, for how long?  Under what conditions does is
crash?  Runs fine.
Can phones register?  Yes.
Can you connect calls?  How many active lines?  Yes, up to 7 lines.
What is the CPU load with 2 active lines, as a fraction of 1 core?
40% for transceiver, 6% for OpenBTS

Thanks for participating.
