This probably wont solve your problem, but if I forget to correctly set the external clock (read turn it on) the CPU usage very high.

Thank you for the updated code. Yet it does not compile for me with
the following error:

USRPDevice.cpp:179: error: cannot convert `usrp_standard_tx_sptr' to

I use gnuradio-3.2.2 (latest stable from the gnuradio website).
I would be glad to know if you have some fix for this or I'll give
it one more try bit later.
