Hello,

Sorry, if discussed earlier
I am using Openbts-2.6.0Mamou. It uses 'SIP layer'(third layer) as 'Network layer'. why  'SIP layer'. what are  reasons for having 'SIP layer'. why is 'Network layer' not suitable for OpenBTS.
Regards,
adeel

Hello.

Pardon if it was discussed before - quick googling failed me.

How do I specify local instalation of gnuradio instead of system-wide
for openbts build - something like:
./configure --gnuradio-prefix=/home/user/gnuradio

best regards,
Max.

Hello.

I'm not sure to which list this should go: there is no "kal" tool in
the openbts git atm but gnuradio wiki where kal-0.2 is available says
that it will be there eventually.

Nevertheless kal build failed on ubuntu 10.04.2 x86 with gcc 4.4.3 due
to lack of "#include <stdio.h>" in circular_buffer.cc

It would be nice to see this trivial fix merged in some proper location.

cheers,
Max.

Hi Users,

Is there any other code change required in OpenBTS for using external 10Mhz
clock
on USRP2 except the one in *public-trunk/Transceiver/UHDDevice.cpp*

//Set the reference variable on line 44 to true.
*const bool enableExternalRef = true;*

Thanks,
Abhinav

This is an OpenBTS thing. Best to talk to them about it.

Nope. Just rebuild the transceiver and you're done.

http://gnuradio.org/redmine/wiki/gnuradio/OpenBTSUSRP2

It would be preferable to enable this at runtime, but that involves
changes outside of the transceiver code.

Hi Thomas,

I applied the change suggested by you to enable 10 Mhz external clock.
I see a strange behavior now when measuring frequency offset using
Kalibrate.
Below are the observations-

Board used- USRP2, Transmitting frequency = 945.2Mhz (GSM 900 band, ARFCN
51)

*When Internal clock is configured, Frequency offset = +1.873Khz
When external clock is configured and switched on, Frequency offset =
+2.721Khz
When external clock is configured and switched off, Frequency offset =
-36.78Khz
*
Do you have any idea whats going on here ??

Thanks,

I'm new to OpenBTS, in the "OpenBTS for dummies" there are written, that we
must apply patch for OpenBTS when using RFX1800 boards, but the author of
this manual used an old version of BTS.
For the openbts-2.6.0Mamou + GnuRadio 3.4.0 + 2xRFX1800 boards do i need any
patch now ?
