With the advent of devices like the Iliad and the Sony Reader, I feel it would be advantagous to create a way to manage content on these devices, modifying it into formating which would be optimized for their displays. This would increase the usability of the program as well as the adoption of stand alone readers for the linux OS.

Just a thought.

As a new owner of a PRS-500 Sony Reader, I absolutely agree. The sony connect software is windows only and their e-book store is only accessible through their connect software. (They allow non-drm'ed formats on the reader, tho)

A really nice project for OpenBerg would be to create a good library manager and converter for the reader. (I've seen lrf projects here and there).

Good idea. Unfortunately, we don't have the manpower to do the connection software. On the other hand, if you are willing to do it or to find someone who can do it, you/they will be welcome.

As for the converter, well, there's something like this under way.
