    Goodday and a happy newyear.

In the documentation I saw that DB2 was not listed a a supported DBRMS for open cobol. As a DB2 DBA I saw that as a challange and I am happy to report some success. You can learn more on my blog: http://db2twilight.blogspot.nl/2014/01/linuxdb2-running-cobol-with-inline-sql.html

It would honor me if you could update the FAQ and mention DB2 there as well.

Some years ago I tried DB2 with OC and wasn't worked very well.
Connection worked almost all the time but fetching data sometimes worked sometimes not.

    Which DB2 version you used?

    10.x? 9.x? 8.x?

    Regards.

Gotto visit this forum more often, sorry.
I used both version 9 and 10. Too late now to reproduce the error so I can take a look I presume?

      Hi Dick.

I'm little busy right now but will create a VM to test again DB2 + OC "just because can do it"

I will let you know then.

      Regards.

      Dick,
I just found your DB2twilight articles. Awesome work.
I have C-Express up and running on my computer along with the latest version of GnuCOBOL, Linux 21 Fedora 21.
I just completed an assignment of moving 3090 DB2 to DB2LUW on AIX.

The question is, before I start trying it out on GnuCOBOL, will your scripts still work or have you made improvements to them?

I will be putting GnuCOBOL/DB2LUW, with several hundred programs being compiled and tested, thru its paces.

Also, so I do not spend time trying to get the correct combination of parameters did you set up GnuCOBOL build time environment variables successfully?

I will keep you informed of my progress. I want more people using GnuCOBOL and DB2

      Great work, Thanks Dick
