I got the following error. It told me I shouldn't, so I thought I'd post a bug report:

    To follow up, this error occurred when I set the local URL of my hosts to 127.0.0.1 (I was testing setting up the chord on a single host and this was the result).
    Since changing the nodes' local URL to be an external IP, the chord starts up and runs fine! :)

    You are right.
    If you - for example - use the console to create a network you must be careful not to establish a connection to your own endpoint!
    If you try the command "joinN -bootstrap 127.0.0.1" then you will establish a connection to your own endpoint. Currently Open Chord cannot immediately
    recognize that, as your host may have another IP-Addresse (e.g. 192.168.0.1) that is used to create your own endpoint.
