I am trying to compile rexx on HP ia64 and I get pretty far along the way
but eventually I get to a gcc command that has a +b in it and gcc does not
recognize it. I was wondering if this is an option for a different
compiler maybe or if it just needs to be taken out?

For an Itanium you have to compile ooRexx as a 32-bit application.
The code base is not yet 64-bit safe. I'm not sure that the support
for running 32-bit applications is available on all Itaniums. I think
at one point Intel removed hardware support for 32-bit in the Itanium.
Your first step would be to determine that you can run 32-bit
applications on your system.
