Bertram, I decided to download and run 2.2 using the same values as you were using and these are the results using the same hw/sw as previously shown:

Same system as before (e.g. Dell Precision 390, Intel Q6700 2.66Ghz, 8 GB RAM, Windows 7 Ultimate x64)

Still I/O, especially disk, and the ability to do multiple things at the same time is important, IMHO.
