In "modern" applications the treeview expand button (+/-) is often replaced by a different image such as a triangle pointing right when collapsed and down when expanded.

Interesting.  I had assumed that the triangle buttons were a new tree-view style available in Windows 7.  However, it is not tree-view style.

You need to set a new "theme" for the tree-view window.  This "theme" thing is something that doesn't seem to me to be well documented.  I fooled with it a few months ago trying to get something to work with tool tips, I think.  I don't quite remember what it was for.

Anyhow, I couldn't get it to work.

But, for this specific thing, the triangle button, it is relatively easy.

Is this something that could be supported in ooDialog? I assume that this is yet another control object with an .Image parameter in Vista/7, and I'm probably wrong about that :) If it is possible to implement support for this without any major problems I would be happy to add an RFE. Thanks.

An RFE would be good.
