    This READ code does not work on HTML encoded records. This was very hard to pin down. But I am certain about the symptoms because if I just change the "<" to something else like "`" the linein() will pick up the records. Actually its a field level thing, because embedded HTML commands are also ignored. It seems to only happend when I'm running under the Apache server hosted by XAMPP.

    DO CNT = 1 WHILE LINES(XNAM) \= 0
    IF CNT = 1 THEN DO
    RC = LINEIN(XNAM,1,0) / JUST OPEN THE FILE. /
    END
    qury.CNT = LINEIN(XNAM)
    qury.0 = CNT / KEEP TRACK OF RECS IN FILE /
    END

    Particulars:
    Windows 7 32bit
    XAMPP 1.7.4
    ooRexx 4.1.2

      Rexx support,

      I was able to get my reads to work by translating all the '<' to 'FF'x during the write process, and translating the 'FF'x back to '<' after reading the records.

      Still wondering if there is something that I can adjust so that the streamed HTML records read from files get processed like regular data.
