It's been awhile since our last mailing, and it's high time for a little
update on what's been going on under the hood at On The Mark, the video (and
now imaging!) scoring suite.
* New Website *
The website <http://onthemark.sourceforge.net/> has undergone a complete
overhaul to help new users get up to speed with the software. It should be
much easier now to see the latest news, take the latest release (or a more
recent snapshot) on a test drive, and get plugged into On The Mark
development. The companion development site, Trac, hosted at
SourceForge.net, should help to make bug reporting, issue tracking, and
road-mapping easier to manage and in a more centralized location.
* New Versions *
Since our last newsletter, On The Mark versions 0.7-0.9 have been released.
Sorry for leaving you out of the loop! We've been busy adding new features
and greatly improving usability, including more controls and compatibility
with the recently released JavaFX 1.2. Please see the
News<http://onthemark.sourceforge.net/news.html>page for summaries of
each of the new releases.
* Ongoing Development *
The 1.0 release, currently in active development, sports a new image
browsing and marking facility for categorizing large numbers of pictures.
Shortcuts are also getting better, and if you're a Mac user, you'll be happy
to find that video playback has been fixed. Looking for other bug fixes or
have a few suggestions of your own? Check out the
Tickets <http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/onthemark/report> pages.
We announced awhile ago that we had submitted On The Mark to the JavaFX
Coding Challenge, and we'd like to follow up on the results. On The Mark
received an Honorable Mention! Thanks everyone for your support in this
software project. We hope you find On The Mark increasingly useful and
would appreciate any feedback on how we can improve the software for your
work or recreation.
