      Karem,

I think we are interested, but have not found the right reason to make the change. I am not aware of any grade book programs that will export to Online Grades that support anything but English.

There is someone who recently inquired about translating into Spanish. The major work would be to make the application ready for multiple languges. Translating the strings should not be too hard.

Here is some reading on how to implement gettext strings in PHP:
      http://mel.melaxis.com/devblog/2005/08/06/localizing-php-web-sites-using-gettext/
      http://www.onlamp.com/pub/a/php/2002/06/13/php.html?page=1

These should give a pretty good idea of what would be involved if gettext was used. I'm including two more links below that metion other options.

Is Gettext really the tool to use?

I AGREE WITH YOU AS FOR THE GRADE MACHINES , THEY SHOULD SUPPORT OTHER LANGUAGES.
MY QUESTION IS ף CAN WE WITH COOPERATION WITH ONE OF THEM TO DO LOCALIZATION AS WELL.
I UNDERSTAND THAT THERE IS A FREE OPEN SOURCE THA CAN WORK WITH ONLINEGRADES, SO MAYBE WE CAN ADOPT IT FOR LOCALIZATION.

THEN HOW ABOUT, MAKING ADDING TO YOUR APPLICATION,ׂ ON LINE GRADESׁ SOME NEW FEATURES AS GRADES AND ATTENDANCE.ׂ LIKE SIS OR CLASS

      THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST

I am not able to get involved with the gradebook companies regarding mult-language support. The method they would have to use is different from a web based program like Online Grades. If you are interested in helping make Online Grade mult-language capable, lets talk further about the details of the changes that would be needed.

Regarding adding extra features to Online Grades, we had decided that our current focus is on displaying information export from grade book programs, not creating our own online grade book or student information system. For that, you may be interested in software like OpenAdmin (info at http://richtech.ca/openadmin ), or one of the others listed at http://k12opensource.wikispaces.com/Student+Information+Systems+%28SIS%29 .

As discussed further up in this thread, the software would have to be re-written to provide internationalization capabilities before an actual translation could be done. This has not been done and would be the first step.

Do you know anything about PHP programing?
