toshlcd can change the brightness because it contains asm code took from the Windows driver. In my opinion, toshlcd is just a _patch_ and should not be added to any project. My goal was to provide a better interface than http://linux.toshiba-dme.co.jp/ML/tlinux-users/8400/8497.html to change the brightness on laptop with Phoenix BIOS.

To answer your question, I won't merge toshlcd into omnibook.

Is there any hope this code can be merged into the omnibook module code?
